Privacy policy
The short version
This website does not track you. It sets no cookies, uses no analytics, loads no fonts, maps or scripts from other servers and embeds no social media. That is why there is no cookie banner.
Controller
Kaia Technologies (Pty) Ltd, contact details in the imprint above. E-mail: hello@kaiatechnologies.com.
What happens when you visit
To deliver the pages, our web server processes the data your browser sends with every request: IP address, date and time, the page requested, the referring page, and browser and operating system. The server writes this into log files so that we can detect attacks and fix errors. The log files are deleted after 30 days. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure, working website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Hosting
The website runs on a server of OVH SAS in a data centre in Germany. OVH processes the data on our behalf under a data processing agreement.
If you write to us, we use your address and message only to answer you and delete them when the conversation is over, unless we are required to keep them.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correction, deletion and restriction of processing of your data, to data portability, and to object to processing. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. A short e-mail to us is enough.
The contact form
If you use the contact form, we process what you enter - name, e-mail address, optionally company, subject and your message - together with your IP address and the language of the page. We use it to answer you and to keep the form free of abuse. Your message is stored in our backend and sent to us by e-mail; replies go directly to your address.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry concerns a possible contract, and otherwise our legitimate interest in answering enquiries and in preventing abuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We keep enquiries until the conversation is finished and delete them afterwards, unless we are required to keep them. The form sets no cookies: instead of a session it carries a signed timestamp, and the number of submissions per IP address is limited.
